About the Founder
Paulina Marie Smith
“Since I was a little girl, I’ve shared a connection to wolves, to water and to the healing found through what feels like home in the heart.” - Paulina Smith
Paulina Smith is a force of nature. Called to create sacred space for the purpose of healing people’s hearts and the soul of the world, she resides on the Big Island of Hawaii with her Beloved, two spirited children and their rescue animals.
The Rose Wolf River Retreat was her father’s personal sanctuary and home. She received the vision to create it as a retreat space for healing as a tribute to her father’s wild-at-heart spirit, her mother’s nurturing soul, and in honor of the dream given to all people awakening to the power of love within their own hearts.
The beauty, nature and solitude of the property has been carefully curated by professional healers and interior designer alchemist to provide each guest with a healing experience for all occasions.
About the Land
It all began with a love for fly fishing by Paulina Smith’s father, Tom Bricca, The Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife lists more than 50 areas for fishing for salmon, steelhead, bass, bluegill and trout.
Tom was drawn to the majesty of the flowing waters and wild salmon that return each year to the North Umpqua River. It is Tom who settled along this rustic stretch of water still so connected to a time out of mind for pioneers and simple living, leaving plenty of room for the soul to breathe.
Before leaving the retreat to his daughter Paulina, Tom took pride in allowing much of his 1 acre parcel to remain unfenced and purposefully accessible to the local deer population as a kind of safe haven from their natural local predators, the coyote and mountain lion.
Now, years later, generations of deer family call the home their own and guests are blessed with the ability to enjoy close proximity to amazing wildlife.

REQUEST A HEALING IMMERSION
At The Rose Wolf, every visit is a shamanic journey. If you would like to book a stay that is specifically designed around shamanic healing through soul retrieval, Shaman Holly Baade, who lives a few hours away in Marin, California, is available to work with guests interested in personal healing immersions.
Soul Retrieval is a very profound and life changing healing experience where parts of people’s life essence returns to them through the assistance of a Shaman. People who experience soul retrieval often feel more harmonious, more empowered, and like they are able to move in the direction they feel truly called to in their life. Soul Retrieval also assists people in recovering from accidents, trauma, limiting beliefs, critical illness and grief. The deeply restorative process also cultivates deep feelings of peace within.
“The Journey of becoming yourself begins by living in alignment with the truth of your heart expressed in your daily living.
