Undoing, Being & Becoming

"You have everything within your mind, heart, and gut to guide you. You can do hard things.
You have courage. And even though yes only you can do it, you’re not alone!"
- Paulina Smith

Undoing

“The pearl is created by the oyster to self soothe from an irritation inflicted by a grain of sand. We may not know what the outcome will be from our experiences, but we can trust in our own unfoldings in our soul’s journey. That the pearl is us.”

- Paulina Smith

At The Rose Wolf, we offer “Undoing” as a grain of sand to begin the “pearling of you” process. It is a seed of intention to help guests on a healing journey choose to live more consciously by being willing to come into a new environment and to leave things that are no longer needed or helpful behind.

The things that need to be left behind are going to be different for each person. This may include ways of being that feel comfortable, long-held thought patterns and limiting behaviors.

With the phase of healing called “Undoing,” that is usually when you are kind of confronted with everything whether intentionally or not. Facing grief, patterns of wounding. Almost every single step of the way in this part of the process requires pure presence and can be painstakingly challenging while at the same time liberating. For example, noticing where we are numb from patterns of “fight, flight or freeze” and then being aware of that to breathe through it and release it as we can.

Essentially, the “Undoing” phase allows us to become really present to the story and narratives that have governed our perspective and ways of living. It is a death process which can look like an ego death… or a true passing of some kind.

By letting go with courage during this part of the journey, we are able to show up as a blank canvas to our own adventure and highest potential of being.

Each phase is not linear, it is fluid. So we may need to return again and again to the experience of “Undoing” as we feel greater and greater enlightenment.

At The Rose Wolf, there is a hope that people are able to retreat to connect to their own center within their hearts and feel into the intentionally curative process of “Undoing, Being and “Becoming’ in their own way.

Being

“Our life story is an ongoing piece of art. Each day begins as a blank canvas. Your inner self that desires to be expressed into reality guides the paint brush of creation. In the space between nothing and something is pure presence of what is in that exact moment that will guide what desires to be created and expressed in your day. Being receptive to your inner guidance, being in the present moment, opens doors to the vastness of the human experience through wonder, joy, adventure, and even through fully experiencing pain and grief. Being held and seen through this process in a safe loving container has the power to change patterns and melt away what is no longer serving you.

- Paulina Smith

Bringing our soul into our story is an enriching path to soulful physical embodiment. This is what is possible in the process of simply learning how to “be”.

During the “Being” phase of healing transformation there first arises a bit of boredom perhaps and feeling of “lull” that comes from simply ceasing to do anything one has done a lot of or normally does for the purpose of creating space and “undoing.” So in this process arises a different sensation which is one of, not knowing what to do sometimes.

This feeling of not knowing what to do, without running to distraction or some other form of numbing out or running away from, eventually gives rise to the greatest sense of “being”. One that extends itself in our light-body as a fuller capacity to receive more of our soul without stress or striving.

This can feel like letting more of the divine feminine come in for greater self-receptivity. It can also feel like letting more of the divine masculine come in for a greater self-activity. This is because it is a time of inherent naturally balancing.

The whole thing is encapsulated in love. To allow things to burn away you need to feel safe. So you can feel like coming back into oneself and coming into that death stage in ground level.

So much of our society has been created to ignite our sympathetic system to be doers. The feeling that we need to be constantly “doing” something in order to be of value, safe or loved is a direct result of societal educational progression.

A true personal retreat that gives rise to the expansive feeling of “to thine own self be true,” creates a space that is inherently restorative, insightful and healing.

As each phase of the process of “Undoing, Being and Becoming” is not linear, we might go in and out of being able to “be” and at time, we give an intention to this phase of opening, receiving and igniting inner creativity for the purpose of not missing the magic it brings.

It is in the presence of the present moment where we can allow for more transformation and healing to occur.

Becoming

“Birth is new, painful, ecstatic, takes you to your edges to help you grow more than you ever imagined possible. ”

- Paulina Smith

In the moment of conception there is actually a flash of light that happens around the cells. That is the becoming, when we feel the spark of creation.

It can be painful to grow when we are so used to being one way or another. If the phoenix has to be born again, what does that mean to be born again, to be born anew?

So that “Becoming” requires showing up for ourself to feel, heal and then reveal what wants to come through us as our fuller selves and everything just flows from there.

And that is the becoming. It’s a baby. A newly born essence, expression or being. It also comes from where you’ve been.

This can be a really exciting phase of the healing cycle when it seems like everything is new and possible. The feeling of flow begins to emerge even as the work within and without begins to burn. This is a time of building new foundations for freedom and for greater abundance in self and sustenance that feels like it could go in an infinite number of directions and at the same time feels very intuitively focused.

The energies of the feminine and masculine are both present here swirling around in polarity and attraction (within and without). At first, it is quite profound and dazzling. Then, there does eventually feel a need for focusing the energy.

So the feeling of desiring structure is also something that emerges in the phase of “Becoming” which might be quite surprising. But it is also a time when we need to establish some clear boundaries - just to help us contain the energy.

Creating a workable container then is something that is inherent to the time of “Becoming.” This can be challenging. Maybe it is surrender. Maybe it is forgiveness. Maybe it is just play and permission to enjoy life more. Whatever it is, it will happen in the presence of love at The Rose Wolf.

"Power is not found by forcing ourselves, but rather by finding our Self. If you want to improve the state of your being, and the state of the world, you’ve got to go on a journey of empowerment that begins with opening your heart, embodying your soul and freeing your spirit.”

“You can ‘plan’ for healing to a degree. You can plan to seek out a therapist. You can plan to go to a therapy appointment. But what actually unravels within that container is very present and organic to whatever is wanted to be experienced and witnessed in the Now.”
